Post High School Career: Played for University of Washington 1940s with armed service interruption; played two years with old New York Yankees professional football team and then four years with the New York Giants and was all-pro each year and considered one of the best defensive linemen of his era; inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1984.
