Commentary:

At Grant, I relished being part a team that proudly wore the blue and grey. The lessons I learned from playing sports reach far beyond any athletic arena. Whether in a game or at practice, my coaches shaped me into not only a successful athlete, but a person who cares about TEAM and the greater good. My teammates challenged me to give my whole self to the sport and to be there for each other both on and off the field or court. At Grant, the role of "student-athlete" was not taken lightly—I learned to pursue athletics while at the same time staying committed to academic success as well.

My time as a Grant General are some of the best memories of my life, and even now I find myself a little jealous of the Grant students I have the privilege of coaching—they have no idea how good they have it, I find myself often thinking. It's a huge honor to be recognized by the PIL with this achievement!
