Post High School Career: Starting Pitcher on American Legion Regional Champions, 1938; leading scorer for the winning Portland High School All-Stars vs the Seattle High School All-Stars, 1941; played on Portland Buckeroos Junior Hockey team; in Baseball, played for the U.S. Army team for 2 years and Semi-Pro for 5 years; developed Wallace Park Little League and served as long-time coach
