Tom Walsh
[1958]

School: Lincoln

Sports Played: Football, Wrestling, Track and Field

High School Honors: 2-year Football Letterman, 1st team All-PIL and 2nd team All-State tackle, senior; Shrine all-star. 2-year Wrestling Letterman, PIL runner-up at 181 and 3rd in State, senior. 3-year Track letterman.

Post High School Career: Stanford University graduate, 3-year football starter, All-Coast 1st team, junior and senior; All-American honorable mention, senior. Owner of Tom Walsh and Co.

Commentary:

Like a huge majority of teenagers, I clearly had fairly limited athletic ability. That's a genetic fact that none of us can change. From coaches like Joe Loprinzi, Darrell Everett and Tom DeSylvia, I learned three life-long lessons: Attitude really counts, strength and quickness often outshine speed and ability on the football field, and the only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.
