Commentary:

I would like to thank God first and foremost for the many blessings he has given me. Starting with my parents Barbara and James who instilled in me self confidence, compassion for others and trust in God. My big sister Lisa who was the PIL 100 meter dash champion in 1983, was one of my early heroes, and my younger brother James II was my best friend, rival and sparring partner all throughout our childhood.

Being inducted into the PIL Hall of Fame is an incredible honor. I would not be here today if not for the love, support, and mentor-ship of an incredible number of people. At the top of a very long list are these amazing individuals; Jerry Campbell, Paul Coakley Sr., Kelvin Hall, Joe McFerrin Sr., Theron Hall, Harold Williams Sr., my wife Lisa and the late Kurt Wilmarth.
