Commentary:

Since the age of seven, I can remember loving to run. Growing up in North Portland, I ran from the St. Johns bridge to Sauvies Island every day, thinking about all the things I could do in life. Little did I know that running itself would change my life and help mold the person I am today!

Around age 8, I joined P.M. Track Club and met my life long coach Leon McKenzie. McKenzie knew early on I had something “special” and rare. We trained together about 7 days a week and drove to Eugene year after year to compete in many state and national championships like the Jr. Olympics, where I would win year after year.

When I moved to Florida, it was McKenzie who influenced my parents to come back to Oregon so I could attend Benson, where he was the head track and field coach. Coach McKenzie introduced me to John Mays, who I trained with and learned from the next four years. I excelled with Mays and McKenzie: my biggest success coming when I become a state record holder in the 400 meters in 2005. I also went on that year to compete in the U.S. Nationals where I placed second and could represent the United States in the Pan-American Championships in Ontario, Canada, placing Silver in the 400 meters and Gold in the 4×400 meters relay.

In 2006, I accepted a full ride scholarship to attend the University of Southern California, where I became a three time NCAA All-American. I’m number seven on USC’s Top 10 All Time list in the 800 meters. Shortly after Graduating in 2010 from USC, I become a fitness model, and hosted and judged many national fitness competitions like Body Boys United.

Athletics has inspired me to help others get to their healthier place in life. Today my partner and I own and operate a franchise Anytime Fitness. It is number one world-wide and the fastest growing health and fitness club globally with over 1200 members. Our mission every day is to help our members get to a healthier place.

Our gym provides 24-hour access, live group classes, personal training, group training, and a free fitness consultation to every new member. My goal is to own and operate three to five Anytime Fitness Franchises.
