High School Honors: 2-year letter winner in football, All-PIL and starting quarterback on PIL championship team as senior; HM All-State. 4-year letter winner in wrestling, District champion and 4th in State as frosh; PIL and State Champion sophomore, junior, and senior at 141, 148, and 157 respectively. Greco Roman National Champion at 167 in 1991.
Post High School Career: Wrestling at Clackamas Community College. Presently an assistant pastor of a church called "Song Of Hope." Head wrestling coach of Askeo International mat club and an active mentor to hundreds of youth in the inner city. Owner of Front Line Ready Auto Sale, a small car lot.
Commentary:
The sport of wrestling has been an incredible vehicle that has taken me to places I could have only dreamed of going. The sport of wrestling has also created some of the greatest relationships a man could ever desire to have. While the sport of wrestling taught me how to lose, ultimately it also taught me how to win. Humility, dedication and discipline are only a few of the many thousand’s of gifts the sport provided that I am so thankful to have acquired. The sport of wrestling is a tool in God’s hands used to shape my character and through the sport of wrestling I have been blessed to become the man that I am today.
The husband of a beautiful woman named Olivia McPherson, father of 6 lovely children and 5 awesome grand children. I’m also proud to say my father (Donnie McPherson) also a PIL Hall Of Fame Member. He has been the single most influential person in my life. He poured into me and made me believe that there is absolutely nothing that I can not achieve if only I believe! To him I am so thankful.
