High School Honors: 3 Letters in Basketball. 2nd team All-PIL as Junior; Unanimous 1st team All-PIL, All-Metro, All-State, and Oregon Player of the Year as a Senior. All-Tournament 1st team and on All-State Championship team. Averaged 26 points per game as a Senior.
Post High School Career: 4 Letters in Basketball at Oregon State. 3 time All-PAC selection, PAC/10 Player of the Year as a Junior; NCAA Region 8 Player of the Year and 3rd team All-American as a Senior. Averaged 14.7 points per game and shot 60% from the field in 115 games over four years for the Beavers. Number retired by OSU and inducted into Oregon State’s Hall of Fame in 1996. Drafted by LA Lakers in first round in the 1985 NBA draft (23rd pick); earned three NBA championship rings with the Lakers in 1987, 1988, and 2000. His 1,110 consecutive games played at the end of 1999-2000 season was the longest such streak in NBA history.
