Post High School Career: 4 year Letterman in Football at Lewis & Clark College; earned BS in Business.
Operations, Financial Analyst and Manager for 36+ years. Original Board Member for College Bound in San Diego. Coached Pop Warner; served as BSA Scout Master. Deacon, Mesa View Baptist Church, 11 years. Cleveland High School Athletic Hall of Fame, 2001.
Commentary:
Athletics and my High School experience helped shape the person I am today. The physical conditioning and challenges, the mental preparedness required, the team work and comradery, and the emotional cycles up and down impacted all of us. Those experiences not only impacted us then, but also made imprints that impact us the rest of our lives.
I have great memories of coaches, team mates and opponents. As I’ve gotten older I haven’t always kept in contact, but in my heart and mind they are always there. Many of the individuals that touched my life are also inductees in the PIL Hall of fame.
This induction into the PIL Hall of Fame is a blessing for me that rekindles the flame that burns within me and makes my light shine brighter for all to see—family and friends.
I thank God for the opportunities and experiences I was able to enjoy during those critical High School years. I pray that Athletics and the lessons they afford continue to be a valued part of the High School experience.
