Commentary:
Remembering my high school athletic career always makes me realize how truly lucky I am for the number of special people that have been in my life and continue to be part of my life. I am forever grateful for my coaches that sacrificed their time to coach all my teams. Preparing me not only for the upcoming game, but also teaching me important values I can apply to life outside of sports.
My teammates are another group of people I will always remember. All the long hours spent together practicing being the best we could be for the games and hanging out outside of sports. Many of these individuals are still close friends today.
And my family, who was and continues to be the best support system I could ever ask for. I am extremely fortunate to have them in my life. My father coached all my youth teams prior to high school and put me in the best position I could have been in to succeed in high school. My mother was my personal sounding board for any issues I ever had, providing her own style of coaching (and she still does today) to make sure I was in the right mental space. As well as my sister, who was and continues to be one of my biggest cheerleaders.
Being inducted into the PIL Hall of Fame is an amazing honor. Thank you to all the individuals who allowed me to join this talented group of individuals.
