Commentary:
Without my involvement in interscholastic Athletics at Cleveland High School, in the 1950s, it is doubtful that I would have ever attended College or had the career in Education, Coaching and Athletic Administration that I was fortunate to have accomplished. The Coaches that I was mentored by, the fellow athletes I was associated with and the experiences I was exposed to, in competing in The Portland Interscholastic League for four years, led me to believe I could attend college, compete in Athletics and gain a College Degree. Athletics gave me the confidence to become the first of my family to attend college. For that I will be forever thankful.
