Commentary:
I was inspired by my coach Mr. Melvin in 7th grade at Joseph Lane. My wrestling coaches at Franklin high school were Tom Dyer and Jack Bury—both great motivators in wrestling. I was also blessed by my high school sweetheart—Connie Cervantes-Jones—who later became my wife and cheered my accomplishments.
My Franklin roots are deep. My grandfather Fredric was involved in debates at Franklin, and my brothers Paul, Mark, Clay preceded me and were there cheering me on. I am very proud and honored to be a Franklin alumnus.
