Commentary:

I am most honored to be acknowledged for my participation in a team accomplishment. It goes without saying, sports equipped me with the skills that have been valuable in many aspects of my life. Belief in one’s own abilities and the value of matching those abilities with hard work definitely pays off. Through sports I have had the privilege of meeting many wonderful people and come to know the value of several lifelong interpersonal relationships. Though, my teammates helped me to realize the value of collectively focusing on a single goal and working together to actualize it, there has been no one to stand out more in my personal growth and development than coach Ed Rooney. I am grateful for my time at Grant High and will continue to use the positive lessons learned as I make my way through life.
