Commentary:
My high school and college coaches encouraged us to participate in many sports. From that, we learned more about ourselves — that knowledge would serve us well throughout our lives. These coaches/teachers taught us also to respect ourselves, teammates, and opponents. By example, they demonstrated respect for their sport (program) and all other sports (programs). These lessons have helped me to understand and appreciate others, their goals and the direction they choose in the pathway of life.
