Commentary:
My success in running has cultivated a lifelong commitment to healthy living and enabled me to attend a top university. My success has also allowed me to find similar passions and balance in my life as I’ve grown.
Athletics taught me the value of strong leadership. This year, I am one of the assistant coaches for Grant High School’s track and cross country teams. I hope to pass on the lessons and advice I received as an athlete and also serve as a mentor for the next generation of runners.
Professionally, I work in the environmental nonprofit sector. I serve as a board member of the Rebuilding Center and served as a board member of the Portland Fruit Tree Project. Finally, I am an elected Precinct Committee Person for my district.
