High School Honors: 2 Football letters. 1st Team All-PIL as Senior, Wide Receiver on PIL Championship Team; Honorable Mention All-State; Howard Cherry Award winner.
2 Baseball letters. 2nd Team All-PIL Outfielder as Senior; top hitter on Jefferson Babe Ruth All-Star Team that won District, 2nd in State in 1968.
Post High School Career: Treasure Valley CC, 1 Baseball letter, drafted by San Francisco Giants in 14th round in 1973. Played for Portland Mavericks in 1975. Played Semi-Pro Baseball; umpired Baseball and Softball for High School and College games. Career in business administration and TV communications.
Commentary:
Athletics taught me composure, patience, and gave me confidence to believe in myself. I fell in love with baseball because of a patient Little League coach in Norfolk, Virginia. My dad Stan fanned that love into flames pitching batting practice and pepper sessions that sometimes lasted til midnight.
