Commentary:
The foundation for my life was laid by the teachers and coaches I had at Ockley Green and Jefferson. For many years I have remarked to my friends that I could remember all my elementary and high school teachers (now at age 74, a bit of an exaggeration) but I don’t recall the names of any of my college teachers. The Jefferson High School teachers had the greatest impact on me. Coaches Neeley, Pesky and Pienovi not only taught me the fundamentals of sports, but life lessons that have impactded me to this day. I am a very lucky person who had people who cared.
