Commentary:

I am truly humbled and honored to be inducted into the Portland Interscholastic League Hall Of Fame. Throughout my life so many people have influenced me, to many to mention, but I must a acknowledge a few of them. First I thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; my Mother — Ultimate Hero — father, sister and brothers -— Role Models — Wife and Children, who changed my life; my coaches and teammates, for without them I would not be here. To all the above and the others that are in my heart, I thank you for the limitless love and support that you gave me.

Having had three older brothers that attended Jefferson, there was no doubt that I would also be going to the School of Champions. Participating in sports at Jefferson reinforced a lot of the values my parents had instilled in me, respect others, preparation is key, adversity is a gift, perseverance, and teamwork. The skills and traits that I learned playing sports have carried over into my everyday life and have helped me to build and maintain life-long friendships along the way. I would be remiss if I did not thank these coaches; Clarence Shepard, Chuck Peterson, Merlin White, and Jack Bertell.
