Commentary:

Like so many young people, playing my own sports and watching my classmates compete in theirs were absolute highlights of my childhood and certainly of my high school experience. Perhaps even more vivid than my memories of competing on the lacrosse field for Lincoln High School, I remember and cherish the afternoons and evenings spent watching my friends participate in football, soccer, dance, and more.

The athletics community at Lincoln High School and in the PIL shaped my approach to sports and laid the foundation for me to chase excellence at the collegiate level and beyond in lacrosse, academics and in my professional life. I will always be grateful to Will Harris, who was my high school coach at Lincoln and the engine behind our beloved lacrosse program. Without his tireless efforts, and those of so many other volunteers too numerous to count, my high school and college experiences might have been very different.

Being a part of a lacrosse team has given me my greatest thrills and a community that stretches from coast to coast. Sports are a defining characteristic of my life and it’s a pleasure knowing that so many others feel the same way.
