Commentary:

I am deeply honored to be inducted into the PIL Hall of Fame. Reflecting on my time at Madison High School not only brings back many fond memories, but also fills me with immense gratitude. The countless hours of practice, fierce competition, thrilling victories & even challenging defeats have all provided me with invaluable lifelong skills that I truly believe have been pivotal in shaping who I am today.
This recognition is a testament not only to my personal efforts but also to the extraordinary support I received from coaches, teammates and family. First & foremost, I owe significant thanks to my high school coaches – Jeff Neibergall, Suzy Setterholm and Christie Smith. Their guidance & mentorship were crucial. They fostered an environment where hard work was encouraged & provided me with the confidence to push myself outside my comfort zone. Their dedication and belief in my potential were pivotal in my development as a high school athlete & beyond.
My teammates played an equally essential role. Our shared commitment, hard work & mutual respect fostered a supportive environment that allowed us all thrive – each in our own way. The trust & camaraderie we built were fundamental not only to our collective successes but also to the overall enrichment of our high school experience. I am fortunate to still have several of these teammates in my life today.
Lastly, but certainly not least, I must express my deepest gratitude to my family for their unwavering encouragement & commitment. My mom, dad, sister, and grandparents were always present in the stands, cheering me on. They were there not only to celebrate my victories but also to help me through rough defeats. Their steadfast support continues even to this day & I am profoundly grateful for all of their love & dedication throughout the years.
Thank you to Jeff Niebergall for the nomination & for the PIL Hall of Fame committee for their approval. It has been quite a few years since high school, so it was fun to revisit some of the wonderful memories
