Commentary:
With no 1967-68 athletic budget in my senior year, the PIL depended on private fund raising, Without those generous private donors I would not have had the chances that led me here! I really feel for the 2020 athletic careers of seniors cut short by Corona virus and no way to make it up. Having experienced help from others, years later I was volunteering at Madison while my four children attended. I am grateful for Coach Keck’s football scheme and particularly track Coach Button’s confidence in me as both were instrumental in my athletic success. Also, athletics gave me a sense of purpose when my Father died during my senior year.
