Commentary:
Athletics provided me the basic tools needed to succeed in life. I learned competitiveness, perseverance, adaptability, and teamwork. To win in all aspects of life, you need to strive to do better each day. To keep going when things are tough and the odds seem against you. To change directions sometimes, and yes, to rely on others who share a common goal, and to allow others to rely on you.
The camaraderie shared among the team, the joy of the game, and the excitement of winning are feelings I keep with me, that help me to keep going. I cherish the friendships I have maintained through the years.
