Post High School Career: Graduate of College of Great Falls (Montana) with Masters at University of Portland. Active Army duty in Korean War 4 years; Reserves until retirement as Lieutenant Colonel in 1991. None of his 26 teams in 20 years had a losing season. One of his Washington High School Varsity Football teams reached an in-season No. 1 State ranking with just 22 squad members. Taught Math (general to Calculus) at all 4 Portland schools and English at Lincoln. He and his wife raised 7 daughters and would host spaghetti feeds for his Washington gridders. “I have good memories of coaching some great kids. I feel lucky that I had the opportunity to be a coach; every day is a new fun day,” he said.
