Post High School Career: Played Semi-Professional Baseball. Owned and operated Riley’s Tavern in Southeast Portland. Avid fisherman and golfer. Father of Bill Mebesius (1970), who also lettered in Basketball and Baseball at Roosevelt, and was inducted into the PIL Hall of Fame in 2014.

Norm loved baseball. During the depression it was an escape that made him happy. Baseball also provided a way for employment as employers were always looking for players to play on their sponsored teams. Baseball provided Norm with life long friendships and inspired him to succeed in business and life.
