Commentary:

I have been fortunate to have strong parents, Dwain and Shirley Strickland who have been my biggest role models throughout my life. They groomed me since birth to be a respectable, dedicated individual, with strong morals and values. Without their continued love and support throughout my life, I would not be the person I am today.

Along with my parents, my wife Sonya our children Paige, Isaiah, Kadeem and Tyus and countless others have been my inspiration over the years and allowed me to make a difference in young kid’s lives. I have been fortunate that basketball and my current employment with Oregon Department of Human Services have given me the platform to make a difference in children and families lives for over 20 years.

I would also like to thank the PIL and Wilson High School faculty, students, my coaches and teammates who have all made it possible for this moment in history.
