Commentary:
I was lucky to have a father that loved to kick a ball around, a mother who loved to chase me, and a handful of youth soccer coaches that helped me to develop a healthy passion for life-long participation sport.
In High School I learned to focus that passion on specific goals, and that Track & Field IS a team sport. My teammates inspired me on a daily basis and we (together) worked hard for each other. Without them I never would have realized the same level of success or fun.
On that thread I must also acknowledge my amazing competition. The PIL was stacked with great athletes while I was in school. It was a wonderful rivalry between some great young men that I truly enjoyed to know as people and competitors.
A big thank you to my wife and kids who have supported me in my continued passion in the sport of Track & Field. Thank you to Wilson High School for supplying a supportive atmosphere for me as a youth, and as a place for me to share my experience and passion with the youth of today.
