Commentary:

The deepest roots of my being have always been connected to the PIL and I am beyond humbled and honored to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame. Spending my formative years in the youth sports programs of Madison and my high school years at Cleveland prepared me well for the rigors and joys that come with adulthood.

I am immensely thankful to the many coaches, colleagues, teachers, teammates, student athletes, and friends PIL athletics has enriched my life with throughout the years. A special thanks to my dear friends and the best coaches I know Chuck Kearney Sr. and Chuckie Kearney Jr., Don York, Jeff Erdman, Ron Eilers, and Jon Wolf. I would also like to thank the CHS GOAT Jan Watt, for all her guidance and inspiration throughout my life! Thanks to my teammates Greg Franks, Scott McClean and Dean Wier for this nomination!

Finally, a special shoutout to my family; my brother Frankie who as a 2x State runner up in wrestling at Madison, inspired me to pursue athletics. To my sister Shelley and brother-in-law Joe Voboril without whom none of my successes would have been possible! To my other 6 siblings- thanks to all of you we made The Hall of Fame! To my life partner Alice Hunsaker- the 2nd ever Female Athletic Director in PPS- thank you! Yet the thing I am most proud of in my life is that each of my three children are Fourth generation educators for Portland Public Schools! Colleen a math teacher at Roosevelt, Spencer a substitute teacher, and Fran a para educator at Lane currently pursuing her Masters in teaching @ U of P- I love you all beyond measure. Go PIL
