Served as Head Track and Field Coach from 1953-63; His teams won seven PIL Championships, plus the 1961 State Championship; His Cross Country Teams won two State Championships - 1957 and 1958; He also served as the first Wrestling Coach at Grant HS; He excelled in Track and Field and also Football both at Bend HS and the University of Oregon
