Commentary
Though Track and Cross Country celebrate individual achievements, I am most thankful for what they taught me about the value of teamwork. The strong, determined women I lined up next to every day at practice were the best competitors and friends I could have asked for. I was beyond lucky. We pushed each other at practice and in races. We celebrated each others' victories. And we understood that another's success does not diminish your own. I still carry these lessons, and friendships, with me to this day.
