Commentary
I suppose it is trite to say that sports in high school kept me out of trouble. But I was already in some when I needed to make a decision as to whether I wanted to play sports or play around. That was an easy choice. One coach in particular was very influential. Charles "Ole" Johnson, hired as the baseball coach my junior year, helped shape my views as a coach for years to come. He was part counselor, father, chaplain, teacher and coach to me.
