Outstanding two-sport athlete; named All-City guard in basketball; pitched varsity baseball for three years, winning the PIL his sophomore year and finishing as runner-up in the state playoffs; named to the All-City team his junior and senior years and was 9-1 as a pitcher and batted .486 as an outfielder his senior year; pitched team to state championship, striking out 12 while allowing only three hits
Post-High School Career
PIL Hall of Fame Merit Award Recipient, 2004
Played baseball four years at University of Portland and was NCAA All-Coast pitcher his senior year.
Coached 1963 and 1964 Madison baseball teams to state championships after winning PIL title each of those years. Served as Madison AD from 1966 to 1988, before moving to the PIL District AD office until his retirement in 1991
