Commentary
Mike was a life-long participant in sports from any seasonal team sport in grade school and high school and college football to fishing, hunting and water sports throughout his life.
He became a father figure for his two younger brothers at age 14 when their father died. Mike provided a great example for them of the benefits of hard work and dedication to sport. Sports jump-started his life to college and beyond. Although he was not one to talk about his achievements, they were apparent to his brothers who attempted to follow his example.
