Commentary

I am truly humbled and thankful for this honor! I had a career that spanned 37 years of teaching and coaching in the PIL. I was blessed and had the opportunity to work with so many outstanding young men. I enjoyed teaching but always said the best part of the day was going to practice! I worked with many incredible athletic directors and administrators who saw the value of athletics. I had the opportunity to work with a tremendous group of assistant coaches as well. All my love to my wife, Karen, our sons, Cody and Gage, for their involvement in all of my coaching jobs! It was definitely a family affair. My favorite quote fits so well; “The reward for your hard work is not what you get, but the reward is what you become.”
